Patrick Henry High School
The plans for the new two-story Patrick Henry High School were designed to be constructed in three phases. The first phase of the project was a 214,455 sf instructional wing containing the classrooms, science, computer and foreign language laboratories, the cafeteria, library, and several multi-purpose offices. Breakell Inc. was awarded the Architectural Package of Phase I, which included the footings and foundation walls; concrete slabs; architectural woodwork; doors and hardware associated with the security management system; toilet partitions and accessories; elevators; marker and tack boards; and student lockers.
Phase II of the new Patrick Henry High School established the front of the school showcased with a two-story, rotunda-style entrance. Construction in this phase of the school included a fine arts wing containing art rooms, music classrooms, a photography studio with a dark room, a gallery area for exhibits, and the auditorium. The 14,577 sf gymnasium with attached locker rooms provided balance for the other half of this front section. The administrative offices and a second floor running track were also included in this phase.
